How to Save Tomato Seeds

Seed saving is rewarding and quite possible even when growing in a small space. The number of plants you need to grow in order to save healthy seeds varies significantly from crop to crop.  Tomatoes are a good choice for saving seeds from in a container garden as they are self pollinating. This means that it should be possible to save good, viable seeds from just one plant. 

Tomato seeds are also relatively expensive to buy. Learn to save your own and not only will you never have to buy them again - you'll have a surplus you can share with friends and neighbours.
